The IT Shop allows users to order software licenses and download the software. It is a first step towards a «One-Stop-Shop» for all kinds of products and services provided by the IT Services department.

 

Data protection

The IT Shop uses and generates data that is confidential and may not be passed on to third parties. Information connected to orders and requests can only be viewed by authorized members of the IT Services department and authorized users.

 

Orders and prices

All orders made in the IT Shop are final and binding. Published prices are net prices in CHF and do not include value-added tax (VAT). Prices are subject to changes on short notice and may contain errors. Note that ETH external customers will have VAT added when billed for their purchases. Price information is confidential and may not be passed on to third parties.

 

Licensing terms

The licensing terms and conditions of the licensor are to be observed when ordering and using software. Some licenses are time-limited and may expire before the IT Shop licensing term ends. In this case you will be provided with a new license in a timely manner. Commercial use of licenses is strictly prohibited unless specifically mentioned.

 

Warranty/Liability

IT Services department takes special care to ensure the safety and quality of the product offered through the IT Shop but all express and implied warranties  and any liability for damages caused by the use of the IT Shop or its products is disclaimed.

 

Leaving ETH

Software use rights expire when the user leaves ETH Zurich (termination of employment or exmatriculation). All ETH software that is still installed on private computers must be deleted. Different terms apply to professors emeritus, please inquire with your local IT support group.
